It houses a valuable collection of Costa Rican and international stamps, as well as artifacts related to the country&#8217;s postal service. Through this collection, visitors can discover the evolution of communication through correspondence and postage stamps, understanding the historical and cultural importance that these objects represent.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Besides preserving historical objects and documents, the Philatelic Museum educates the community about the importance of written communication and the value of postage stamps as artistic expressions. The museum is dedicated to preserving and exhibiting postage stamps from around the world, as well as from Costa Rica and the Americas. Exhibits are open to the general public and feature a wide variety of stamps and illustrations in different techniques.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-default has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-999eb86d5beb9a1d72f0436192e84f45 is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Some of the exhibits include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<cite><strong>World Hall:<\/strong> This exhibit features stamps from different countries depicting constellations, planets and famous astronauts.<br\/><br\/><strong>Calypso Hall:<\/strong> It exhibits musical instruments characteristic of Calypso, as well as stamps depicting the ships that brought the first African descendants to Costa Rica and photos of the city of Lim\u00f3n in the early 20th century. <br\/><br\/><br\/><strong>Costa Rica Room:<\/strong> Presents stamps from the 1960s and 1970s depicting important events in Costa Rica&#8217;s history, such as the Olympic Games and the visit of J.F. Kennedy.<br\/><br\/><br\/><strong>Children&#8217;s Room:<\/strong> A section featuring stamps with popular characters from Star Wars, Narnia and Disney movies.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Besides, the museum offers guided tours that take visitors on a journey through the history of the country and different nations in Africa, America, Europe, Asia and Oceania.
