Am\u00f3n Cultural returns on March 22 with its traditional urban festival, filling the historic neighborhoods of Am\u00f3n and Otoya with art and color. With more than 80 activities, mostly free and aimed, this edition pays tribute to Liliana Tagini and Yara Mourelo, owners of the renowned Tienda e\u00d1e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Am\u00f3n Cultural Festival <\/a>is an annual celebration that highlights the artistic, historical, architectural and heritage diversity of this unique area of the capital. The festival explores the convergence between city and nature as its central theme. Throughout the year, this initiative promotes activities focused on the enhancement, development and conservation of the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than a festival: News and initiatives<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The 2025 edition presents innovations such as the first photography competition, in which both professionals and amateurs can capture the essence of the festival. Organized by the Technological Institute of Costa Rica (TEC), the LCI Veritas School of Photography and the Cultural Center of Spain in Costa Rica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides this, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of cleaning up urban rivers, the Mud Spheres Festival will be held on the Torres River. This event will bring together citizens in Naturbanas Routes from 9:00 a.m. onwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Am\u00f3n: art, design and culture in multiple spaces<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Various artistic activities will be on offer at the festival, including exhibitions and live painting. The French Alliance will be hosting \u201cThe Imaginary Insects\u201d, an exhibition by French illustrator Guillaumit, as well as a comic and augmented reality mural by Pandor Oner and Jean-Baptiste Boiteux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Movies will be shown at the Alliance Fran\u00e7aise and the Film Center, and there will be theatrical performances at the TEC’s Local Technology Campus in San Jos\u00e9. In the field of fashion and design, there will be fashion shows in Espa\u00f1a Park with the participation of the e\u00d1e store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Themed tours will be another of the outstanding attractions, offering a different look at the history of the city. Among the most eagerly awaited are \u201cMurdered, hanged and Josephine myths\u201d, \u201cStories, legends and nature: a sunset in Am\u00f3n\u201d and the traditional heritage tour of the area by the architect Andr\u00e9s Fern\u00e1ndez together with the researcher Alberto Negrini, who will guide attendees on \u201cA leap, from Am\u00f3n to Moraz\u00e1n\u201d and \u201cA leap, from Otoya to Espa\u00f1a\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music and Dance for Everybody<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Both the music and dance program will include outstanding events on the TEC stage. Among them, the Concert for Pets with Carlos \u201cTapado\u201d Vargas at 10:00 a.m., the 18th Intersedes Contemporary Dance Festival with the TEC, the UNA Dance Chamber Company and the National Dance Company at 4:00 p.m., and the grand closing concert with Cantoam\u00e9rica and Editus Electr\u00f3nico at 7:00 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organisers of the festival, emphasise that Am\u00f3n Cultural is an effort that seeks to rescue, develop and preserve the heritage value of this historic area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
