VIVA EL ARTE FAIR: From October 24 to 26, Plaza Mayor in Rohrmoser will be filled with color and creativity with a new edition of Viva el Arte. The fair will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and admission will be free.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n

For three days, the public will be able to explore a diverse selection of paintings, sculptures, ceramics, engravings, digital art, photography, glasswork, and object design. The works on display encompass contemporary and experimental styles.<\/p>\n\n

The event invites visitors to talk directly with the artists, learn about their processes, and purchase original works in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n

The general curator was visual artist Ana Beatriz S\u00e1nchez, coordinator of the fair. Art historian Flor Gallardo directed the guest exhibition. The selection reflects the vitality and diversity of contemporary Costa Rican art, as well as its commitment to innovation.<\/p>\n\n

The participating artists include Abigail \u00c1lvarez, Alexander Rojas, \u00c1lvaro Bracci, Ana Elena Fern\u00e1ndez, Ana Luc\u00eda Jim\u00e9nez, Contraluz, Esteban L\u00f3pez, Fabio Herrera, Fernanda Matarrita, Fernando Carballo, Gerald Castro, Hern\u00e1n Ar\u00e9valo, Jos\u00e9 Pablo Ure\u00f1a, Jos\u00e9 Vargas, Juan Carlos Camacho, Magda C\u00f3rdoba, Marcia Salas, Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Da Luz, Mariana Jim\u00e9nez, Mario Maffioli, Patricia L. Guti\u00e9rrez, Roberto Stanley, Rolando Garita, and Sara Morales.<\/p>\n\n

FERIA VIVA EL ARTE: Aquiles Jim\u00e9nez Arias as guest artist<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

The sculptor Aquiles Jim\u00e9nez Arias from Heredia is the guest artist for this edition. His work combines poetic depth and technical mastery. He studied at the Castella Conservatory, the University of Costa Rica, and the Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara in Italy.<\/p>\n\n

Jim\u00e9nez works primarily with stone, marble, basalt, and jade. He transforms these materials into forms that reflect strength, balance, and subtlety. Known as \u201cthe sculptor of silence,\u201d he seeks to reveal the essence hidden within the material.<\/p>\n\n

His career includes two National Culture Awards: the Aquileo J. Echeverr\u00eda Award in Plastic Arts (1981) and the Francisco Amighetti Award in the three-dimensional category (2024).<\/p>\n\n

At the VIVA EL ARTE FAIR, he will present \u201cTras las huellas del silencio\u201d (Tracing the Footsteps of Silence), an exhibition of sculptures that invite viewers to observe and feel stone as a living body. His pieces engage in dialogue with nature, mountains, water, and night, reflecting the artist\u2019s inner tranquility.<\/p>\n\n
