On December 12, cyclists from Costa Rica and neighboring countries lined up in Heredia to begin the first stage, a 95.6-kilometer route to Grecia that marks the start of ten days of intense competition.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Costa Rican Cycling Federation officially presented the event at the Palacio de los Deportes in Heredia. During the announcement, the organizers revealed a route that emphasizes mountains and endurance: nine road stages, one uphill time trial, 15 mountain prizes, and 19 sprint prizes. In total, competitors will have to cover more than 1,200 kilometers before crossing the finish line on December 21.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Notable teams and riders<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>The national teams lead the pack, with Colono Bikestation k\u00f6lbi under the new management of El\u00edas Vega.
