Chepe de moda: Art City Tour 2025
This Thursday, May 15, San José will host a new edition of the Art City Tour under the slogan “Chepe de Moda”, a night when art, fashion, music, and design take over the streets. More than 12 cultural venues will open their doors with special programming, workshops, exhibitions, live music, and interactive activities. Everything is free and transportation is included.
Starting at 5:00 p.m. and continuing past midnight, you can visit museums, galleries, cultural centers, and bars that have prepared unique experiences to celebrate art in all its forms.
Among the highlights in chepe de moda are:
Museum of Jade and Pre-Columbian Culture
(5:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.) Works such as Chartographies of the Heart by Sussy Vargas and the illustrated edition of The Divine Comedy by Salvador Dalí will share space with the museum’s permanent collection of jade and pre-Columbian ceramics. There will also be live performances at 6:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.


National Museum of Costa Rica
(5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.)
A look at the history of the country and the cosmos with the exhibition Primitive Travelers of the Solar System and pre-Columbian stone sculptures.



Central Bank Museums
(5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.)
The highlights include the exhibition Rutas Clandestinas (Clandestine Routes) by Ingrid Rudelman, as well as the Numismatic Museum and the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum.



French Alliance
(5:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
Featuring a sound installation with plants by Charly Fariseo, along with an art exhibition by Anthony Robinson, collaborative murals, and a collage table.



Eñe Store
(5:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
Collective exhibition Mayo Expresivo de Arte, featuring works by artists such as Arturo Santana, Ileana Piszk, and Lili Martínez.



El Muro Art Pub & Comedy Club
(5:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.) There will be an entrepreneurship fair, a free salsa class with Colectivo Manteca (6:30 p.m.), and a salsa after party starting at 8:00 p.m.



Talentum Gallery
(5:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
Three collections from Galería Plural are presented under the title Singular Objects, with striking names such as “Here, if you don’t run… you fly!” and “Emperifollada”.



Amón Solar and El Sótano
(5:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.)
A night of varied sounds with a retro DJ set starting early, live salsa with Colectivo Manteca (₡2000) and jazz in El Sótano starting at 9:00 p.m. (₡5000).



CCSS Art Gallery
(5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
Presents Arte Fusión, a combination of poetry by Debravo and illustrations inspired by the art of Amighetti.



San José Cultural Center
(5:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
Life drawing exhibition, an installation on the golden ratio, and a gestural drawing workshop with live models.



Spanish Cultural Center
(5:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
The collective exhibition Sumersión brings together artists who explore the theme of water through different disciplines.



House of Creators
(5:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
Takeover Entropía, an exhibition by Majo Rodríguez inspired by nature and design, takes over this creative space.



How to participate?
All you need to do is register online and go to any of the departure points, such as the Jade Museum or the Central Bank Museums. You can explore the routes on foot, on free shuttle buses, or at your own pace.
