Eco Chontales emerges as a paradisiacal corner, framed by exuberant jungle vegetation and the hypnotic music of its waterfalls. Located between Dominical and Pérez Zeledón, this natural wonder adds to the treasure of waterfalls and crystalline rivers that adorn the region.

How to get to this hidden Eden?

The route starts on the Interamericana Sur towards Perez Zeledon. After the gas station, turn right towards Dominical, approximately 45 minutes drive. In Torito de Baru, take another right turn and follow the signs that will guide you for 30 minutes to the entrance of Eco Chontales, where a cozy little house awaits you.

The distance to cover once inside is 1.2 km, with a moderate level of difficulty. Although accessible with assistance, even on horseback, it is recommended to bring adequate equipment: bathing suit, trail shoes, cloth, sunscreen, insect repellent, change of clothes and a bottle of water to keep you cool. The key to an optimal experience? A positive attitude.

To get there, a tall vehicle is preferable, with parking facilities available. However, please note that pets are not allowed and that, if you wish to camp, advance reservations are required.

Important Information

The cost of this adventure? For nationals, admission is ₡3,500 for children ages 3 to 9 and ₡2,000 for adults. Foreigners pay ₡4,500 and ₡3,000 respectively. Eco Chontales is open every day of the week, from 8 am to 4 pm.
